This Week on the Island 07/08/2023
‘This Week on
the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about
happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts
that are lies.
The Weather:
The book this week was ‘Game On, Tempting Twenty-Eight’ by Janet Evanovich. I have already read 27 of her books.
And of course, this week was July 4th. For those that don’t know, the little flag is The Conch Republic flag (Key West).
Land of the free because of the brave.
Not everyone enjoys fireworks.
On one of our early morning walks we went pass the old dog park on Trombo Road. It is under construction for some new apartments. We and the dogs had some good times there.
This week was also the 200th anniversary of Key West. So, we needed a key lime pie.
Key West can’t pass up an opportunity for a party. There was a key lime pie eating contest.
The movie 'Drifters' is being made in Key West. This picture is across the street from The Green Parrot.
