This Week on the Island 02/18/2016
‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett
and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything
is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather:
Beautiful Week.
The book this week was ‘Robert the Doll’ by David L.
Sloan.
The week
started with an street fair at the Restaurant Store on Eaton Street.
Koda and
I took a walk to the little beach on the Gulf of Mexico side of the island at Simonton
Street.
It was
8:00 AM and the fairy was taking the tourist to the Dry Tortugas and Fort
Jefferson for the day.
Senor
Frog is moving into the place Burger Fi was on Duval Street.
It has
got to be a tourist parked under a coconut tree on such a windy day. There must
be 50 coconuts ready to drop on the car.
Jo, the
dogs, and I spent some time Saturday at Schooner listening to Michael McCloud.
There
was a street fair on Saturday on Whitehead Street and a Raggae Festival at Fort
Zack also on Saturday but I didn’t get any pictures.
And we
leave you this week with Jo’s orchids in bloom outside our side door.
Key West
you have got to love it
