‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: October is here and we have cooler weather.

The city is trimming the coconut trees on Lazy Way Lane. ‘You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up’. The song is about a man that calls the doctor in the night because he has a tummy ache. The doctor gave him this advice. The water in the coconut (coconut juice) will make you go to the bathroom. You put the lime in it for taste. So, the song is about a laxative.

Where else, but Key West, can a dog go into a bar and get served.

Speaking of dogs, the city mowed the dog park this week.

Some Halloween decorations are going up.
