This Week on the Island 04/21/2013

‘This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Hot and humid with lots of sun and white clouds.

This week I finished ‘Deadly Night’ by Heather Graham, and started ‘Deadly Harvest‘by Heather Graham.


 We start the 10 day celebration ‘Conch Republic Days’ with the raising of the Conch Republic Flag at Fort Zack.

The big event Saturday was the ‘Drag Races’ on Duval Street. The races are held at Bourbon Street Complex. The Drag Queens run in the race. 2nd pic from Sheila Cullen's Facebook.

                                                       Something old
We leave you this morning with the Brigantine Lynx docked across from the Schooner Western Union in the Key West Bight next to Schooner Wharf Bar. The Lynx is headed to Fort Myers Beach.
