Weather:
June 1st start the rainy season in Key West. We got some rain.
June 1st
also is the start of the hurricane season. We have not had one since Kitrina
and Wilma. (The pic is from Hurricane George 1998.)
The
book this week was ‘Iron Orchid’ by Stuart Woods.
When
we officially adopted the husky from the SPCA we received some paperwork
showing that she was KODA before the SPCA named her Aurora. She is now KODA
again.
Finnigans
Wake will close June 19th. It has been a great pub/restaurant with
great food and cold drinks and the center of the St. Paddy’s celebration here
in Key West. Finnegan’s will be missed.
Saturday
we rode our trikes across the island to one of the old fire stations.
At the
fire station they were celebration the 100th birthday of the Mamey
tree that grows next to the fire house. The ice cream made from the mamey tree
was wonderful. http://www.milezerokeywest.com/ai1ec_event/mamey-tree-100th-birthday/
The
work has started to replace the guard rails on the White Street Pier. Picture
