This Week on the Island 06/21/2015
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
In the high 80’s with lots of humidity. Lots of sunshine, white clouds and blue
skies.
This
week I started reading ’Back to Blood’ by Tom Wolfe.
Summer
is here and there is not a lot happening on the island this week. So it was
time for a road trip. Koda needed some shots so we loaded up the dogs and headed
50 miles up US#1 to Marathon.
We left
home.
With the
dogs in the Chevy Tracker
We went
across the Bahia Honda (deep Water) bridge. The picture is the old railroad
bridge the Flagler built about 100 years ago. The old roadway is on top of the
cage system.
And
across the 7-mile bridge
To the
Marathon Vet (Dr. Doug)
Koda got
her shots and Boca had a growth on his tail checked out. Everybody was fine so we drove back to Key
West and went for a walk.
Someone
butchered ‘the hanging tree’ at Captain Tony’s.
Key West
you have got to love it
