This Week on the Island 08/14/2016

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather: Forcast for next 2 1/2 months: Hot and humid with a chance for showers. Maybe a Hurricane or two.
No book this week.
This week started Sunday with ‘Battle of the Bars’ on Lazy Way Lane behind Schooner Wharf. Bars from all over town have teams of employees run a timed course. Two teams run at a time, best time wins. If you lose you can buy your team back into the competition. The money goes to charity.

The week ended Saturday with ‘Lobster Fest’ and lots of lobster on Duval Street.
Of course it is all watched by our Key West mounted police.
I spent 3 days at the start of the week at Key West Medical Center. I am fine and they found nothing wrong. Was having a bleeding issue.
Saturday we took Boca to the Dog Hospital in Marathon to have them look at a ‘carbuncle’ he has on his tail. He had one on his back, but chewed it off. Had blood everywhere. They shaved his back and put him on some drugs.
We leave you this week with Dallas playing at Willy-T’s. I like it when he gets into his Woodstock Music mode.
Key West you have got to love it 'Close to Perfect, far from Normal’
