 ‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: Same as the last six weeks. Hot and humid until November with a chance of a hurricane. A picture of Dog Beach.

This week’s book was ‘Key West Drop’ by Mike Pettit.

Had a little Key Lime Pie Eating Contest this week.

Also had some folks that felt like running 3.5 miles in all the heat and humidity.

Teeki and I took a ride down to Ft. Zack State Park to enjoy a little sunshine

Our toaster quit, actually it still works but you have to hold the lever down or the bread jumps up. We got it as a wedding gift 46 years ago.

We leave you this week at the foot of Duval. That pier will one day be ‘Sunset Pier’.
