This Week on the Island 11/09/2014
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:Beautiful all week with highs in the low 80's and lows in the mid 70's.
No book
this week.
This
week was Off Shore Power Boat Racing. It started with a parade of boats down
Duval Street Sunday night. It is something to see these guys driving these big
rigs and pulling these giant boats and making the turns on these narrow street
in Old Town Key West.
Lots of
racing each day off Mallory Square.
Then
Saturday we celebrated Bocas 10th birthday at Schooner Wharf. There
were treats for all the dogs in the bar and Birthday cake (carrot cake with
cream cheese icing) for all the bar help.
Of course
we can’t forget me replacing the water works on the bath tub upstairs. We were
only getting hot water. Three hours later it was all fixed (thanks to the
internet and a film on You-Tube.)
Key West
you have got to love it
