This Week on the Island 02/15/2015
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
58 degrees Saturday morning with a cold wind out of the north. I tell tourist
that it very seldom gets below 60 degrees and very seldom gets above 90
degrees. I guess today is one of those ‘very seldom days.’
This
week I started reading ‘The Killing Edge’ by Heather Graham.
I hope
you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
Some
construction happening on Duval Street as they replace the drains.
Putting in
a parking lot where the building used to stand that my wife worked in.
The last
of old city hall on the corner of Simonton and Angels is now down
The new
fire station is up and running on Simonton Street
Williams
Street (by Schooner Wharf) has been updated
The
place that opened less than a year ago on Green Street as Shameless, is now Chicagos
And lets not forget the city putting in a new drain at Mallory Square
The more
things change, the more they remain the same.
Key West
you have got to love it
