This Week on the Island 07/11/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

July 4th was Sunday, We also had a Key Lime Pie eating contest.

The Weather: Lots of weather this week. We had a tropical storm (Hurricane Elsa) come to see us this week. The eye of the storm missed us by a few miles, but we were in that dreaded north east part of the storm for some time.

A little walk before the storm.

Douglas still running on North Roosevelt. What hurricane?

There was destruction. Bicycles in the street.

Roads blocked by palm fronds.

But Wednesday it was beautiful again. The water is a little stirred up and may not be clear for a few days.

So Teeki and I went to listen to Michael McCloud at Schooner Wharf Bar.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday Morning’. Teeki and I at the Truman Waterfront.
