This Week on the Island 08/16/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Actually got some rain this week. The dogs and I got soaked. It was wonderful.

No book this week.

For those that read this blog or follow me on Facebook, you know my favorite place in Key West is Schooner Wharf Bar. That is NOT Schooner’s or Schooners’ but Schooner Wharf Bar.

Schooner Wharf Bar got its start on a Schooner (boat) at the docks in the 1980’s. This is the bar on the boat.

The entertainment and the bar were on the Schooner and people on the docks enjoyed the activities.

Then they moved onto dry land and kept the name in the end of the 1980’s.

Then they started expanding in the early 1990’s.

Today, The top burned out part has been removed and the bottom has been rebuilt. 2014 – 2015.

But what I enjoy the most is Michael McCloud. I have a few adult beverages and sing along with him and all the stress from living on this island just drips away. Today Aug 15, 2015 singing 'Tree Top Flyer'.
