This Week on the Island 09/26/2010

'This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The pictures this week (click to enlarge) are ‘Rainy Day at Schooner Wharf’ and ‘Rainbow’ off North Roosevelt.

Weather: We had some cooler wind blowing out of the north since last Friday. It had dropped the humidity and temperature and made it very nice. The humidity was back by this Friday.

This week’s book was ‘Paper Products’ by James W. Hall.

Dogs in bars. I was told that it should happen soon for Schooner Wharf. It is just a matter of the city approving and inspecting to verify that everything is in place.

Howard Livingston of the Mile Marker 24 Band will be the grand marshal for the Fantasy Fest Parade for 2010.

The Key West Citizen newspaper said there was about 10,000 cycles in town last week for the Poker Run.

This week and for the next few weeks until Fantasy Fest at Halloween, there will be few tourists in town.
