This Week on the Island 01/24/2016
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
Winter time. Some days it didn’t even get up to 70 degrees.
Last
Saturday was another marathon with Howard Livingston playing for entertainment
at the end of the race.
This
week was sail boat week. It was very windy. They race almost out of sight from
Mallory Square so I couldn’t get any pictures. I kept looking for some on
Facebook so the ones I am posting this week are from last year.
Jo and I
went for a graveyard tour Saturday morning. The graveyard is in the middle of
the island on the highest ground in Key West. It is 16 feet above sea level and
the wind was blowing. We enjoyed the tour but were glad when it was over.
Last but
not least, Jo has been wanting an adjustable bed. It came in this week end. We
took the old bed apart and cleaned the room and put the new bed together. I
hope she sleeps better as it is basically 2 singles pushed together with controls
for each side.
Key West
you have got to love it
