This Week on the Island 03/19/2017

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Cold this week. Had some days that it didn’t get above 70 degrees.  The wind blew most of the week making it feel even colder.
No book this week. I like to sit in my rocking chair on the front porch and read. It has been too cold.
This week started with Daylight Savings time.
We had the ending of the 2017 Iditarod. I like it because of the huskies.
March 14 was Pi day (3.14). Make mine Key Lime.
Then there was St Pat’s day at what used to be Finnegan’s Wake now Lucy’s Retired Surfer Bar.
St. Pats on Duval at Irish Kevins.
And spring break continues at Dante’s.
We leave you with the sunrise over the bight at Conch Republic Seafood looking toward Schooner Wharf Bar.
Key West you have got to love it
