This Week on the Island 10/12/2014
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
A taste of fall came thru this week. It brought some rain and a little cooler
weather. The sun, blue skies, and white
clouds were back by Saturday with 85 degrees.
This
week I continued reading ‘The Stone Wife’ by Peter Lovesey.
Boca continues
to have problems with his feet. I took him back to the vet and started him on
some different medicine. I also put the cone of shame back on him to keep him
from licking his feet.
These
pods are falling out of a tree over near the library. Kind of look like
something out of a horror movie to me.
My
sister and her husband were in town this week from Taylors, SC.
Koda
has taken over Boca’s duties of begging food. This stop was at the Sebago stand
on Lazy Way Lane.
Nothing
says the tropics like a coconut palm full of (50) coconuts. There are close to
3,000 different types of palm trees.
Tuesday
we had another waterspout appear.
The
end of Williams Street next to the bight will be under construction for the
next 10 weeks. The city is putting in some pumps and a turn-around. This should
make Lazy Way Lane a pedestrian walkway.
Key
West you have got to love it
