This Week on the Island 08/21/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

 The Weather: Hot and humid.

Hurricane Grace decided on a Mexican vacation instead of a Key West vacation.

Meanwhile Hurricane Henri decided to visit the North East.

The local paper, The Key West Citizen had a nice picture of The Truman Waterfront.

This is the same area when it was a submarine Training Base.

August 16^th was ‘Rum’ Day.

Here I was sitting on the couch eating ice cream. Had that ‘someone is watching you’ feeling.

Mel Fisher’s birthday was August 21^st.

Here is his gang when they discovered The Atocha. Lots of gold, silver and precious stones.
