This Week on the Island 08/05/2018

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: You decide.
‘The Battle od The Bars’ is happening on Lazy Way Lane out back of Schooner Wharf Bar. Bars get teams together to compete for fastest time on a course on the lane. Start the clock. #1 member makes a margarita, #2 takes it to the table, #3 member drinks the margarita (good job), #4 member bus the table and takes the trash to the recycle bins, #5 member rolls beer keg and then taps it, #6 member draws 7 beers and #7 member takes them to the team members that are all in a line. Each member (in turn) drinks their beer and puts the glass upside down on their head. When the last member does this, the clock stops. Lots of money made for charity.
We had some Cubans show up in a chug at Fort Zack Beach. They will all be sent back to Cuba as we no longer have the ‘wet foot, dry foot law.
4 years ago, we had a parade to celebrate the life of Sir Peter Anderson. Jo and I are just behind the Mayor in his golf cart.
A new part of the park down on the Truman Waterfront has opened. Teeki and I took a Teeki Kart ride down there to check it out.
We leave you with this reminder, ‘If your dog poops, pick it up’.
