This Week on the Island 11/11/2012

‘This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Weather: A little windy and cool all week but in the mid 70’s for the week end with lots of sun and blue skies.

This week I finished last weeks book ‘Pirate Hunter’ by Tom Morrisey. Great book.

PIC VA MIAMI

Monday was another long day and a trip to the VA in Miami. I got up at 4:00 AM to catch the VA bus to Miami at 5:00 AM. Got home at 6:30 PM. Went for teeth cleaning.

PIC BOCA at Marathon

We took Boca to the Marathon Vet on Tuesday afternoon to check him in for surgery Wednesday morning. He had a large lump growing on his chest.

PIC Boca chest

We went back to Marathon on Wednesday afternoon to pick up Boca. He is doing fine but very sore from having his chest opened. The lump was pressing against his wind pipe on one side and a major artery on the other side. Good thing we had it removed.

Thursday I went for an eye check up. My distance vision is fine but my reading vision needed glasses. I have been that way since I was 45. No change.

PIC Boats fom Rob O'neal's Facebook

This week was Off Shore Power Boat Racing. It is kind of like NASCAR at sea. There were lots of big powerful boats and the race was between Mallory Square and Sunset Key.
