This Week on the Island 06/24/2018

 ‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: What a wonderful place to live.

Teeki and I were walking at Duval and Front Street when we found the sidewalk blocked.

But across the street it was also blocked. Got to love Key West.

This one block of Duval Street was approved to be turned into a ‘pocket park’. This is next to South Beach on Duval at the Atlantic.

This week was another trip to Miami to the VA to have my ankle replacement checked out.

We packed our new (new to us) 2017 Volvo for the ride up the Keys.

First was a stop at the local hospital so Jo could give blood for her physical coming up soon.

Then it was on to Miami and the VA hospital. Every thing checked out OK.

We leave you with ‘the green flash. This happens sometimes when the sun sets into the ocean on a clear day with nothing,  like clouds,  blocking the view.
