This Week on the Island 12/15/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather:  Another beautiful week. Temperature in the low 80’2. Blue skies and white clouds.
Last Saturday night was the Christmas Parade. This is Teeki and me waiting for it to start. We were with a bunch of dogs from the Dog Park and had a great time.
A wonderful law passed this week for protection of our animals.
Last week The Hog’s Breath had no canvas roof. This week it got a new one.
Thursday was the farmers market down at the Truman Waterfront. This area used to be a Military Base in WWII. It was used for training Submariners. The area of water to the left was where the subs were docked and is still called the Sub Pin.
Teeki begging for dog treats at Captain Tony’s. Mitch is behind the bar.
Christmas Lights over at the Key West Bight. That is Conch Republic Seafood straight ahead.
Saturday night was the Lighted Boat Parade in the Key West Bight.
