This Week on the Island 09/08/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:  Really bad for the people in the Bahamas. Wonderful here.

The book this week was:

This week started with Labor Day.

It has been pretty quiet in Key West. Nothing happening at the Truman Waterfront.

Nothing happening on the 7-milebridge.

Nothing happening on Duval Street, wet or dry.

Even the Conch Train is empty.

Thursday, Jo and I got up very early and drove to the Miami V. A. I had a dental appointment. While we were on the mainland, Jo did some shopping. We got home late on Thursday and were a bit tired. Four-hour drive to Miami, 6 hours in Miami, and a 4-hour drive home.

Someone is doing some work on the waterfront at the Key West Bight at Conch Republic Seafood.

Two years ago, 09/09/2017, we were hit by Hurricane Irma.
