This Week on the Island 02/24/2013
‘This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Beautiful all week. In the mid 80’s most days with little to no humidity. Blue skies and white clouds. This is why we live here.
No book this week.

Spring is here with butterflies and baby turtles in the back yard. The coin is a quarter.
This house around the corner on Elizabeth Street has a two man crew working on it. They have been at it for some time but it is looking good.
This house on Eaton Street has recently been painted and is also looking good.
This is an Eyebrow house as the roof hangs over the second story windows (like eyebrows over your eyes). The purpose is to leave the second story winds open all the time and allow for air flow. Works wonderfully this time of the year, not so great in the summer.
Just some ripe yellow coconuts hanging in the tree. Cut them down, drink the juice, eat the coconut meat. ‘You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up.’
Jo’s orchid in bloom in the back yard.
Jo’s yellow rose in bloom in the front yard.
The hibiscus in the front yard.
The bougainvillea in the front yard.
How Jo and I and Boca spent our Saturday.
Life is Good!
Key West, You have got to love it
