‘This week on the Island' is
written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key
West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather:
Wonderful. Lots of sun, blue skies and white clouds. In the mid 80’s in the day
and the mid 70’s at night. We got some rain Friday night.
The book
this week was ‘Florida Heat Wave’ by a bunch of authors. A book of short
stories.
The
Doobie Brothers played Saturday at Truman waterfront.
We had
problems with Jo’s trike this week. The front breaks squealed no matter what I
did. The bike shop said the wheel was out of round and they replaced the
spokes. It works find now.
Sold
the little Suzuki this week. It was a great little car but hard to get rid of
because of all the rust. The new Chevy Tracker has A/C and no rust (yet).
The
sign says ‘No Parking from here to Corner’. The city painted the curb yellow.
Then they put a parking place in the ‘no parking’ area on the corner of Front
and Duval.
A
picture of the first staff at the 1st Margarittaville at Lands’ End,
Key West. It was next to the Shell Barn in the same area as Turtle Kraals and
Half Shell.
Had a friend in town from Iowa. We sat at
Schooner and had a few adult beverages while listening to Michael McCloud. He
reads this blog.
Key West you have got to love it
