This Week on the Island 05/03/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather:  Some rain on Tuesday. Rained all day Wednesday (5 t0 6 inches), little rain Thursday. Beautiful weekend with low humidity and low 80’s.
No book this week.
Road trip up to No Name and pizza for lunch. Looe Key, Mango Mamma’s, Giger Key, KOA Campground for adult beverages. Roostica for dinner. Then we blew a tire on the Hummer. $1,800.00 later, a couple of days to get the tires to the Keys and now the Hummer is ready to go again. Had to replace all 4 as they were dry rotted. This is the Hummer in the paper before we purchased it.

View from KOA Campground.

Michael McCloud has been sick and not at Schooner Wharf since last Wednesday. He was back this Thursday. The island wasn’t the same without him at Schooner.

The old West Marine on the corner of Caroline and Williams is being transformed into a gym, a restaurant, and who-ever they can rent space too.

Grand Funk Railroad gave a concert at the Truman Waterfront on Saturday. Howard Livingston and the MM24 Band were there also. We had a great time. Grand Funk wasn't as good as Jo and I remember them, but then that was a while ago.

We end with a pretty little cactus flower the dogs and I passed on one of our many walks.
