This Week on the Island 01/03/2016
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
In the mid 80’s in the day and high 70’s at night.
Walt
Disney sent two of his ‘Mickey Mouse’ ships to Key West on the same day this
week.
The last
day of the year we have our ‘Dachshund Parade’ it goes on for 3 blocks.
We also
had Year end with the Conch Shell drop at Sloppy Joes
Sushi
being lowered in a big red shoe
And the
Pirate Wench being lowered from the mast of a ship
And it
was 45 years ago on New Year’s Eve that I asked Jo to marry me. This is a
picture of us on a cruise many years ago.
We leave
you this week with the tourist enjoying the Key West sun on South Beach on the
Atlantic end of Duval Street the last day of 2015.
And let’s
not forget the kids having a great time when the waves splash all over them.
Happy 2016 to you and yours
Key West
you have got to love it
