This Week on the Island 03/01/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Beautiful. In the high 70’s with lots of sun. Life is good.

This week I read ‘The Dead Room’ by Heather Graham.

Spring Break has started. Spring break is from the first week in March until Easter. Easter occurs on the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox (the first day of spring). This year Easter is the first Sunday of April so we will only have 5 weeks of Spring Breakers.

How about new business in town.

The Green Room on Green Street across from Sloppy Joes.

Zapata’s on the 900 block of Duval where dogs drink free all day long.

Or the new Cuban place on the 400 block of Southard where you can get a Cuban hamburger.

Cindi and Mike at Schooners invited Boca, Koda and me to join them.

And last but not least, Jo and I dressed for a black tie event Saturday night.
