‘This week on the Island' is
written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key

Weather:
Saturday it rained for 11 hours. Heavy rain not showers. Monday was beautiful.
Tuesday it was in the 50’s all day. Wednesday I went to the VA in Miami, rained
all day. Then we went back to normal Key West weather. In the 80's for the weekend.
This
week I read ‘Hot Damn’ by James W. Hall.
Saturday
it was beautiful so I decided to take a little ride around the island on my
trike. The first stop was Truman Waterfront and the Ingram with a cruise ship
in the background.
Then
it was down to Fort Zack state park and one of my favorite benches on the
island. Sit and watch the boats come and go thru the ships channel.
From
there it was thru Bahama Village and past the old Ammo Dumps
Over
to the Southernmost point and all the tourist waiting in line.
Next
stop was South Beach on the Atlantic side of Duval Street. Lots of people
sitting in the sun.
Then
over to Louis Backyard
Next
it was over to White Street Pier.
Crossed the island on White Street and back home. The banana tree now has 26
bananas.
Went
upstairs on the back deck and laid in the sun a while. Life is good.
Key West you have got to love it
