This Week on the Island 05/17/2020
‘This Week on the
Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings
in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The
Weather: The Dry Season which
started at the end of Hurricane Season, last Nov 1, seems to be over and the
Rain Season has begun. The helicopter was also spraying for mosquito season.
And you people think we don't have seasons down here in Key West.
Book for
this week.
Had my
76th trip around the sun last week. Teeki got me a t-shirt.
I
decided to make my self a Key Lime pie.
It was
gone in no time.
The city
is removing the blacktop from Duval Street from the Gulf side to Truman Avenue (US#1).
What
week is complete without a trip to Ft. Zack.
And
Saturday was Armed Forces Day.
We leave
you this week with a rainbow over the dog park on Saturday morning.
On St. Patrick’s
Day, Sloppy Joe’s closed. I count the social distancing from that date. So, it
has been 2 months of retirement for lots of you folks. Staying at home and no
or very little income. How have you enjoyed retirement?
