This Week on the Island 06/17/2017

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Same as the last two weeks. Hot and humid until November.
This week’s book was ‘Key West Flashpoint’ by Mike Pettit. Russian Kilo Class sub, El Presidente, loaded with $5 billon from Venezuela headed for Cuba sank south of Jamaica. Found by some Key West guys. There is a Chinese nuclear bomb onboard the sunken sub and an African born hurricane headed their way. I read some exciting international books.
Teeki and I rode thru Truman Annex toward the new park being built. They are doing some update to the entrance.
The condos on the corner of Simonton and Green are having another set of buildings built and the concrete is ready to pour.
We Cycle has opened a branch on Caroline Street across the street from the new gym.
A little excitement on Caroline Street as someone is hauled off in an ambulance.
Went to Schooner Wharf to listen to Michael McCloud. Lots of friends were in town and hanging at Schooner.
In case you haven't notice. Jo, Teeki, and I have a pretty nice life here in Key West.

Key West, you have got to love it
