This Week on the Island 02/26/2017

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Beautiful.
The book this week was ‘Cold Case Pact’ by Elizabeth Hilleren. This is her 5th book I have read.
The week started with Presidents Day. This is John Hanson the first president of the United States. There were 8 presidents before George Washington under The Articles of Federation and before The Constitution.
A major accident at my house. The rocker on my chair on the front porch has broken. If it is made of wood it will rot or the termites eat it. If it is made of metal the rust gets it. If it is made of plastic the sun get it. Nothing last in the tropics.
I went to Home Depot and loaded a replacement chair on my truck.
Took a trip to the Truman Waterfront to see how the new park was developing.
Also took Teeki to the dog park to run and play. I was sitting on the chair in the sun enjoying the weather. The snowbirds with their dogs were in the shade under the trees with the mosquitoes.
Saturday we took a trip to Marathon
To get Teeki checked out. She is OK.
Then we went to Porky’s for N. C. bar-b-que and sweet potato fries. Then back across the 7 Mile bridge and back to Key West. The tourist asked, 'If there are 46 bridges, which one do I take to get to Key West'. ALL OF THEM.
And last but not least, some time was spent at Schooner listening to Michael McCloud. Smoke a little Cuban and drink a little beer. Life is good.
Key West you have got to love it
