This Week on the Island 03/11/2018
‘This Week on the Island’ is
written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key
West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The
Weather: I had to go to the V.A. in Miami this week. This is a picture of the
sun rise out the window of the V.A. Bus.
This week I continued
reading’ Kilimanjaro Snow’ by Lewis Haskell.
The Veteran’s
Hospital in Miami. Hopefully they will be replacing my right ankle before the
end of April.
A little ‘Pocket
Park’ was dedicated this week to the memory of the cigar rollers here in Key
West.
Teeki’s dog
park friend Shelby was Citizen of the Day. I know it says Josh, but we all know
it was Shelby that was Citizen of the Day.
Yes, the college
kids are still here.
Someone took a
picture of me and Teeki at the corner of Caroline and Duval. The Bull would be
on the left corner just out of picture range.
Saturday, we
took a road trip to Marathon (MM50, mile marker 50) to get Teeki’s annual
physical. She has been with us 1 year and 4 months. Address along US#1 are
given in Mile Markers. We live in Key West (MM0) so the trip to Marathon (MM50)
would be 50 miles.
And of course we stopped at Porky's to get a N.C. Bar-B-Que sandwich and a couple of adult beverages.
