This Week on the Island 04/12/2009
'This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The picture this week (click to enlarge) is ‘Boca eyes’. He has been with us for a year now and is fitting into island life quite well. Boca’s pupils are star shaped and not round.

Weather: The last cold front of the year came thru Tuesday giving us a high for the day of 75 degrees. (It was almost 90 degrees the day before.)
The book this week was ‘Dead Silence’ by Randy Wayne White. Exciting!
HAPPY EASTER! Hope you found all the eggs.(Easter is determined as being the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal (spring) equinox.)
This was the 6th and final week of spring break for this year.
Lots of family’s in town this week. Lots of traffic. No parking places available. Everything is packed.
We had some friends from New York drop by to visit this week. It is always good to see them.
We took a long road trip this week. All the way up to MM30 to go to the pet store and get some fish for the aquarium.
Speaking of pets, the dogs are doing fine after their bout with the little sea critters that infested them. I threw out all the tennis balls that Boca had brought home.
We have a FREE weekly newspaper in town that I love to read. It is ’Key West the Newspaper’ but we call it the ‘Blue Paper’ http://www.kwtn.com/ . It normally gives a controversial side to the stories in daily newspaper ‘The Citizen’.
My next door neighbor Sam passed Thursday night. He will be missed.
