This Week on the Island 12/4/2016
‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update
to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except
for those parts that are lies.
Weather:
Another beautiful week just like the last 3 or 4. We are into the dry season and the temperature
is in the low 80’s in the day and low 70’s at night. Lots of sunshine, blue
skies and white fluffy clouds.
This
week, Dec 1, was the end of Hurricane Season. We are always glad to see it go
especially this year with no hurricanes coming to Key West.
We took
a road trip to pick up a new dog. We rented this Jeep Compass.
We drove
500 miles north to Inverness, FL. That is a little over 130 miles from Key West
to the Florida Turnpike in Florida City. Then from Mile Marker 0 up to the other
end of the Florida Turnpike at Mile Marker 329. Then a few more mile to
Inverness, Fl. We picked up Teeki (just think of a Key West Tiki Hut). Then we
turned around and came home.
I went
to pick up Boca and brought him home. He is on the right and Koda is on the
left in the headboard on my side of the bed.
Saturday
night we took Teeki to her first Key West Christmas Parade. She really likes
all new strange smell of Key West.
Key West
you have got to love it
