This Week on the Island 06/21/2020
‘This Week on the
Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings
in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The
Weather: Waterspout dropping down, over the light pole.
Of course,
the week started with Flag Day.
We have
Saharan Dust, happens every year, headed this way.
It
causes beautiful sunsets. It also dries out the air and keeps the hurricanes
away.
The
grass at the dog park was mowed this week. It really looks good.
The
iguana are grocery shopping.
With the
repaving of Duval Street, the city replaced the rainbow crosswalk at Petronia
and Duval.
Not to
be left out, Key West also had protesters. The chickens were protesting outside
Church’s Chicken.
We leave
you this week with a look at the ships channel at 6:22 AM Thursday morning
while Teeki and I were on our morning walk. This was taken outside the
Margaritaville Hotel with Sunset Key in the background.
Key West,
Close to
Perfect, Far from Normal’
