This Week on the Island 03/18/2012

This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: A wonderful week. Lots of blue skies, white clouds and temperature in the low 80’s with a shower from time to time.

This week I read ‘Help’ by Kathryn Stockett. Very interesting. A story of the 1960’s in Mississippi with maids raising white babies for their employers, but they can’t use the white bathrooms in the house.

St Patties Day was Saturday. I hope you wore your green.

Key West is a drinking town. Spring Breakers have been known to have one or two. Biker’s have also been known to imbibe. St Patty’s Day is a time for green beer. Put it all on a weekend and you have a party in Key West.
