This Week on the Island 10/08/2016

  ‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Hurricane Matthew never got to Key West. We will rebuild!

The book this week was ‘The Obedience of Fools’ by Rodney Riesel.

Lots of cruise ships in port this week. Seems we are the safe spot in the storm as we are outside the ‘Cone of Death’. Be sure to check out those blue skies and white clouds this week. The rest of Florida doesn’t look that nice.

Also lots of military ships in the harbor waiting on Hurricane Matthew to pass so they can bring relief to the countries that need it.  You may need to click the pic to enlarge.

Not many people in town. Duval at Sloppy Joes looks empty.

The Southernmost Point is also pretty empty.

We leave you this week with a picture of Cody.We hope to get him out of dog jail Sunday.

He is at the local SPCA and we are working on adopting him if he gets along with Boca.
