This Week on the Island 03/13/2016
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
Beautiful Week.
The book
this week was ‘Almost Havana’ by F.W. Belland and Chris Belland.
Hope you
remembered to spring forward.
This
week was the 2nd week of Spring Break. The Florida Schools are out
and that makes Keys West packed. I enjoy watching the college kids do the same
dumb stuff I used to do.
Took a
trike ride down to Fort Zack.
Rode past
the stables for the Police Horses.
Went out
on the waterfront at the Ships Channel.
Rode
thru Truman Annex to the Truman Little White House.
Took
another trike ride to the grocery store and got caught in a heavy rain storm.
About a mile from home the trike quit. I had to pull it home and it was full of
groceries and I was soaked. After it dried out it worked fine.
The
SandBar, a new bar in town is in the old 500 Beers location across from Sloppy
Joe’s on Green Street.
Key West
you have got to love it
