This Week on the Island 05/17/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather: Beautiful all week. ‘The days are all the same here’, Jimmy Buffett.
This week I finished reading ’Bermuda Schwartz’ by Bob Morris. I will look for more of his books.
The big event this week (as far as I am concern) was that I made my 71st trip around the sun. My wife got me a FitBit and we both started a diet. It displays time and date, heart rate, steps taken, distance, and calories burned. It has a wireless computer hook up where you can get all sorts of info. Plain bagel for breakfast, Clear Value 88 cent pizza for lunch, and Banquet dinner for dinner. Less than 1,000 calories a day. I have lost 6 pounds this first week.
I spent some time down at Fort Zack at my favorite bench.
This lovely came by.
Boca and I spent some time at Schooner listening to Michael McCloud.
Koda and I spent some time at Captain Tony’s.
Friday morning there was a double rainbow over the island.
Friday, Boca went to the spa for a wash and air dry.
Early Saturday, some boats were on South Beach for the ‘Key West to Havana’ run.
And we leave you this week with the Royal Poinciana’s in bloom.
Key West you have got to love it
