‘This Week on
the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about
happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts
that are lies.
The Weather: Another beautiful Week.
If you have ever driven North Roosevelt in Key West, then you have probably seen Douglas. He is in the local hospital. Think good thoughts of him as he is missed by many of us.
Two Cubans made it to the Key West airport on this thing. I wish them the best.
We lost a family member last night, Saturday. This is Tortou on his 5th birthday last October. He should have lived to 150 years old. We will miss him.
This is the house at 629 Caroline Street in the Spring of 2019.
This is what it looked like when they finished remodeling it in May 2022.
This is what it looked like this week. I can only assume it was sold and the people that purchased it are doing some more remodeling.
This is the house next to us in June 2021.
This is what it looks like now. The people that purchased it moved in and do not have a completion certificate. They set up their web site offering to rent for a minimum of 28 days at $1,000 a day. They have dropped the price a bit but still for 28 days.
