This Week on the Island 08/30/2015
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
Lots of rain this week.
No book
this week.
This
week has mostly been about Erika, the hurricane that never was. It has been 10
years since Hurricane Karina hit New Orleans (and Key West) so the weather
people made a big deal about Erika and then it blew itself out. Then they
wonder why we don’t leave when a real one comes.
In other
news, Taco Hell (Bell) opened this week.
The store
on the corner of Front Street and Duval Street is being gutted to become
another CVS.
The Key West,
Florida, City Commission has voted unanimously to approve an ordinance that
would establish a $100 ticket for the possession of up to 20 grams of cannabis.
The guy at
Clinton Square playing on the steel drums.
Jo and I jumped on out trikes and road to the store on
Saturday.
And we
leave you this week with a rainbow over House Boat Row at Garrison Bight. Thanks to Conchtastic Key West Facebook.
Key West
you have got to love it
