‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather

May 5^th- Cinco de Mayo

This week was Songwriters Festival.

They had a street party Saturday night.

Sloppy Joe’s is 85 years old.

Today is May 8th (see next pic), but on June 6, 1944 was 'D' Day.

Less than 1 year later, May 8^th 1945, the Nazi’s surrendered. (Remember, ‘less that 1 year to whip their butts’.

Today is ‘Mother’s Day’. My mom.
