This Week on the Island 05/07/2017

 ‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: Beautiful some days rain other days. A front moved thru on Friday and the temperature has dropped a few degrees and the humidity has gone away. Saturday was nice. The pic is the sunrise over the Key West Bight taken from the boardwalk by the Conch Republic Seafood.

There was a grand opening celebration this week for the new entrance to Ft. Zack State Park. Teeki and I went by on Saturday you still had to use the old entrance.

If you need a home in Key West, they have completed some of the condos on the corner of Simonton and Green (only 1 block from Sloppy Joes). Each square contains four 3 story condos and they are only $1,699,000.00 each.

Saturday was a contest and a parade down Duval of decorated bikes and trikes. Pic thanks to Kathy Eddins.
