This Week on the Island 06/18/2023

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

 The Weather:

It is the middle of June, so the Saharan Dust is on the way. The big wind storms in North Africa puts lots of dust in the air and causes beautiful sunsets and keeps the hurricanes away here in Key West.

Last week was pride week with lots of activities around town. This is the parade down Duval Street.

There was a Big Guy 5K run.

Also, in the middle of the week we had ‘Flag Day’. You can have your other flags, but this is the flag that means the most to me.

Michael McCloud left Key West and moved to Arizona. He has a daughter and new granddaughter there. Saw where Michael McCloud will be playing at Parrot Grande in Chandler, AZ on August 25-27.

My gift from Teeki and Bolt for Fathers Day. I really think Jo may have had something to do with it.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday morning’.  Pic of Fiji is from Vance Percy.
