This Week on the Island 06/10/2018.

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Rain, sun, rain, hot and humid.

Took a couple of Teeki Kart rides this week. One was down to Fort Zack. This was Fort Zack in the Civil War. Key West was a Union outpost and Fort Zack was used to block the Rebels that were trying to run goods into New Orleans, Mobil, and Texas.

When digging out the ships channel, they needed a place to dump the ocean bottom that they dug up. So, they built Ft. Zack State Park, Sunset Key, and Christmas Tree Island.

Inside of Fort Zack.

Teeki at the tiki hut.

A cruise ship coming in the ships channel.

We took another ride to the Gulf of Mexico. Seaweed at the end of Simonton Street.

Then to the Atlantic Ocean. Seaweed at the end of Duval Street.

And to the new Truman Waterfront Park.

Last was a ride to the Dog Park and visit some friends

We leave you with a sunset or was it a sunrise?
