This Week on the Island 03/25/2012
This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Another wonderful spring week with clear skies and white clouds. Temperatures were in the low 80’s.
No book this week.
Spring has sprung. Life is good.
Be very careful when making your reservations for your trip to Key West. There are web sites offering stays and when the vacationers get here they find the house is occupied by the owners and they know nothing about anyone renting the place. The vacationers of course, paid up front and are now out their money and have no place to stay.
Some folks from Bradenton, Fl were in town this week. I joined them at their table at Schooner and we enjoyed an adult beverage or two.
We live one block from the Key West Bight. Let’s walk around the bight on the boardwalk
A & B Lobster and Alonzo’s are on the North end of the bight.
Next to them are The Commodore and The Boat Bar
Next we have Conch Republic Seafood Company
Then there is Lazy Way Lane and their shops
Further up the boardwalk is Schooner Wharf Bar
Then there is Turtle Kraals (it used to be a turtle canning factory)
And Half Shell Raw Bar
The boardwalk ends near Dante’s
Hope you enjoyed our little walk. did you check out those blue skies in each picture?
Key West, You have got to love it
