This Week on the Island 09/09/2012
This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Weather: Beautiful. High 80’s in the day low 80’s at night. Clear skies with white clouds.
The book this week was ‘Revenge’ by Michael Haskins.
It is September and the island is quiet. It will remain this way until Fantasy Fest at Halloween.
This week was ‘Women in Paradise’ or ‘Women Fest’. http://www.womenfest.com/ Lots of ladies everywhere.
Schooner Wharf is coming down. Not the entire bar, just the concrete block building next to the Schooner Western Union. A new building is planned.
The bar that used to be The Sports Page on Green Street is being remodeled and the new people have torn out the front so they can have an outside area.
The Coast Guard going by Mallory Square
A volley ball game in action at the corner of Roosevelt and Kennedy.
One of my favorite benches on the island. It is at the Truman Waterfront.
Key West, You have got to love it
