This Week on the Island 11/08/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather:  Beautiful, mid 80’s, lots of blue skies and white clouds.
This week I started ‘Tropical Quest’ by Wesley Sizemore. About Key West in the 60’s.

This week was Meeting of the Minds (MOTM). A gathering of Parrot Heads (Jimmy Buffett fans) here in Key West. Lots of parties everywhere. Most Parrot Head events at the Casa Marina.

The America is back in Key West for the winter.
Our Key Lime tree dropped the last Key Lime for the year. Jo has been using them on her fish at lunch.
Folks laying in the sun on South Beach on the Atlantic side of Duval St.
Southernmost Point in the lower 48 states.
A lady at Dog Beach said she had never seen such a small beach. The dogs don’t care.
I got ‘hacked’ on Facebook. Facebook was fast to delete the bad account. Lots of friends let we know they were getting Friends Request.
Next week is Veterans Day. Key West will unveil the Key West Vietnam Wall at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. (If you don’t understand, study your history or ask an old soldier.)
Key West you have got to love it
