This Week on the Island 03/15/2015

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Beautiful. In the low 80’s with lots of sun. Life is good.

This week I read ‘Hurricane Bay’ by Heather Graham.

Lots of construction going on around town. The old gravel parking lot on the corner of Green and Simonton will be condos. Starting price is $1,599,000.

The little blue building on the corner of Duval and Front will be Starbucks.

Across the street on the other corner of Duval and Front is supposed t0 be a new CVS

The building that used to be Fairvilla on Front Street has construction happening inside

The building that used to be Red Fish Blue Fish on Front Street has been redone to hold multiply shops.

The building on the corner of Caroline and Telegraph Lane (down Caroline from the Bull) that used to be Brazalena will be Keyviche.

The Keys Power Company across from Backspace (used to be Finnegan’s Wake) on Grinnell is being ‘updated’.

Let’s not forget the building that used to be the Fresh Market or Waterfront Market that is supposed to be a ‘Brew House’ is still under construction.
