This Week on the Island 08/25/2019
‘This Week on the
Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings
in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The
Weather: We got a little rain. Our
drains in the street, drain to the ocean. At high tide, sometimes the drains
fill up with ocean water and flood into the streets. If it rains at high tide
the water has no where to go. When the tide turns all the water is sucked out
to sea.
The book
this week was:

already started another book
Our
banana tree fell down. Banana stalks grow to one side of the banana tree. As
the bananas grow the tree begins to lean. When the bananas are large enough the
tree will fall. I hang the bananas on the front porch so the tourist can see
them. There are 60 bananas in this bunch.
A
rainbow at the dog park this week.
Teeki
and I ran into Allen Cox on Lazy Way Lane this week. He has been a friend for many
years. This week was his wife’s birthday.
Went to
Schooner. Listened to Michael McCloud sing ‘Tree Top Flyer’.
I had a
cold beer, Teeki had Schooner water with ice.
I had
chips and salsa.
Finished
it all off with a small cigar.
All of
my beers seem to have this hole in the top that lets the beer escape.
Life is good!
